Our Approach

Our goal is simple. Remove CO2 from the ocean water as an insoluble carbonate rock using nothing but renewable sources of energy, sequestering it for a geological timeframe.

Re-purposing old fishing boats, Ocean will use electro-chemical reactions to remove carbonates from sea water. We will use renewable sources of energy to complete these reactions, and reduce sea water acidification as a by-product. For every ton of carbonates formed by our process, half a ton of carbon will be sequestered.
Magnesium Carbonate. These solid carbonates can then be separated from the sea water and used in various applications such as construction materials, industrial catalysts, and even carbon sequestration. This method offers a sustainable and cost-effective approach to carbon capture and utilization, as it utilizes readily available sea water and does not rely on expensive capture technologies or the storage of CO2 in geological formations. Additionally, the carbonates produced can have significant economic value in various industries, further incentivizing their production. Overall, this method has the potential to contribute to a more sustainable future and mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
